Broccoli and Lentil Salad with Turmeric Yogurt Dressing

This protein and fibre rich Dietitians of Canada Nutrition Month feature salad makes for a hearty side dish or a meal all on its own!

Recipe makes 4-6 Servings



  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 cup halved cherry tomatoes
  • 1 cup cooked lentils
  • ½ cup finely chopped red onion
  • ½ cup sliced toasted almonds (reserve some for garnish)   


  • ¼ cup greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp whole grain mustard
  • 2 tsp honey
  • 1 tsp white wine vinegar
  • ¼ tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp Ras El Hanout Spice Blend (North African Seasoning). 
  • Salt and pepper, to taste


  1. Whisk dressing ingredients together in a small bowl. Season with salt and pepper and reserve.
  2. Combine salad ingredients together. Pour reserved dressing over the dry salad ingredients, season with salt and pepper, and garnish with toasted almond
