You value health
But you're busy and can't seem to make your healthy habits stick.

Reality is, you have enough on your plate (pardon the pun!). Between work and family, life is busy and stressful enough.  Add in grocery shopping, meal planning, fitting in exercise, and figuring out the best diet for you . . . It's enough to make anyone's head spin.

Let's face it, healthy habits fall to the bottom of your priority list when life gets busy.  But you're committed to keep trying so you're always on the look out for the latest diet trend or supplement that will be the solution you need.

Yet, from the multitude of options to choose from, none of them resonate with who YOU are. They all offer a cookie-cutter approach that work in the short-term but never get to the root of the problem and end-up leaving you feeling more frustrated than ever before.

CRAVING HEALTH CAN HELP. WE OFFER PROGRAMS AND SERVICES DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY to meet your unique goals, preferences, and lifestyle. FROM NUTRITION & HEALTH COACHING TO CONVENIENT ONLINE PROGRAMS, WE’VE GOT YOU COVERED.

How she helps: Jodi is a healthy eating coach who helps busy people clear the confusion about healthy eating and discover healthy, simple, and sustainable meal & snack solutions. She is most passionate about helping people overcome restrictive/disordered eating, create a positive relationship with food and their body, and busting common nutrition myths.

What made her become dietitian/personal trainer/yoga teacher: During her youth, Jodi learned (the hard way) that going on diets and taking a restrictive approach to eating is a recipe for health disaster. Becoming educated in proper nutrition and fitness set her on the right path to enjoy a healthy and happy lifestyle (including all foods, in moderation).

Qualifications:

  • BASc, University of Guelph
  • Registered Dietitian (RD)
  • Member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario & Dietitians of Canada
  • Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE)
  • Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT)
  • Personal Trainer Specialist (PTS)

Funny Fact: Jodi is known for being a selective eater. In fact, she has several strong food aversions that are so bad she can't be in the same room when people are eating certain foods! Be sure to ask her what they are.

What she can't live without: Hot yoga, hot baths, canine companions, and writing - whether it be blogs for Craving Health or her hobby blog (www.heartdogtribute.com), she finds writing very therapeutic just like exercise and hot baths.

How she helps:  Whatever your wellness journey may entail, Jennifer will be your trusted nutrition advisor and healthy lifestyle coach. By getting to know your unique goals and needs, Jennifer will work with you to develop simple (real life) strategies to help you nourish your healthiest self. She will teach you to look beyond fad diets and nutritional nonsense to adopt a more confident, relaxed and joyous approach to eating!

What made her become a Registered Dietitian:  Jennifer’s interest in foods & nutrition sprouted in her grandparents’ garden where she first learned to grow, prepare and enjoy the flavours of real, whole foods. Jennifer has always led an active lifestyle and learned early on the benefits of fueling her body well. Coupled with her love of chemistry (believe it or not) and her desire to help others, she was naturally drawn to the field of dietetics. As a dietitian for nearly 15 years, Jennifer has had the privilege of working in a variety of settings where she has helped diverse people across the lifespan with achieving their health goals. In a nutshell, what could be more rewarding?

Qualifications:

  • BSc (Hons), Western University
  • Master of Applied Nutrition, University of Guelph
  • Registered Dietitian (RD)
  • Member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario &   Dietitians of Canada

Funny fact: Jennifer is known for not always following directions — recipe directions that is! She often modifies and experiments with ingredients and tends to test out these creations on her family -- for better or worse!  Be sure to ask Jennifer about her tried & true (along with a few epically failed!) recipe ideas.

What she can’t live without:  Hot peppers, dark chocolate, campfires and her running shoes.

How she helps: While Amanda is a dietitian by trade, you can count on her as Craving Health’s Client Services extraordinaire! She is dedicated to helping you with any questions you may have about our services and always happy to book you an appointment to suit your schedule. Behind the scenes, she's in charge of Craving Health's social media, newsletter, and website postings.

What made her become a Registered Dietitian: Intuition brought Amanda to the field of dietetics. She always had a keen interest in health, wellness and disease-prevention. She made a switch in university courses and has never looked back!

Amanda now works with clients of all kinds and in a variety of settings including the hosptial and grocery store. While she is passionate about helping people make healthy and balanced food choices right in the grocery aisles, Amanda believes there is so much to be learned from others. It’s one of the many reasons why she loves being a dietitian!

 Qualifications:

  • BSc. (HNS), University of Manitoba
  • Registered Dietitian (RD)
  • Member of the College of Dietitians of Manitoba & Dietitians of Canada

Funny fact: Amanda and her friend experimented making cookies using a different type of flour. When they opened the flour bag, her friend commented, “Hmm…why are there so many bubbles in this flour?” Upon closer inspection, the flour was literally moving and infested with worms! Needless to say, they did not get to enjoy cookies that night (and had a few creepy-crawly nightmares afterward)!

What she can’t live without: Popcorn! She air-pops it at home and changes up the toppings for her savory and sweet cravings.

Get to know LEAH

How she helps: Leah is just starting her career as a Registered Dietitian, and is excited to help others through Craving Health! She will work with you to identify your health and nutrition priorities, and help you set goals that work with your unique situation and lifestyle. She is focused on helping you make simple and sustainable dietary changes for any and all health related conditions, and will work with you to create an eating plan that delivers a big impact to your health!

What made her become a Registered Dietitian: Leah discovered the importance of nutrition and its positive impact on overall wellness after she realized her love of group fitness! She was always considered her “mother’s little helper” in the kitchen growing up, but nutrition became more important after she adopted an active lifestyle in high school. Growing up, Leah wanted to be a dentist and went to university with the intention of applying to dental school after she completed her nutrition degree, but after finishing first year, realized that her passion was to teach others how to fuel their bodies in ways that would optimize their health. Her main career goal has always been to help others, and what better way than to motivate people using her passion as a driving force!

 Qualifications:

  • BSc (Hons), Western University
  • Diploma in Dietetic Education and Practical Training (DDEPT), Brescia University College
  • Registered Dietitian (RD)
  • Member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario & Dietitians of Canada

Funny fact: Although Leah likes to cook now- it wasn’t always this way! When she was younger she thought she would make herself lunch and put a mini pizza in the microwave. She misread the directions and put it in for 12 minutes instead of 1 ½, which started a fire! Needless to say, she didn’t get to enjoy her pizza that day, her parents had to buy a new microwave, and her family still makes fun of her about it today.

What she can’t live without: Spin classes, her makeup kit, a killer workout playlist, and Nutella with granny smith apples.

What she can’t live without: This ND can’t live without her running shoes! She thrives on getting outside everyday to breath and move, whether for a walk or jog. Fresh air energizes her and movement gets the brain refreshed for whatever more the day has to offer! Her daughter- keeps her energized, focused, and laughing. Hot drinks like herbal teas, and yes coffee! Gets her through the winter with a smile on her face!
