get to know Jodi

How she helps: Jodi is a healthy eating coach who helps busy people clear the confusion about healthy eating and discover healthy, simple, and sustainable meal & snack solutions. She is most passionate about helping people overcome restrictive/disordered eating, create a positive relationship with food and their body, and busting common nutrition myths.

What made her become dietitian/personal trainer/yoga teacher: During her youth, Jodi learned (the hard way) that going on diets and taking a restrictive approach to eating is a recipe for health disaster. Becoming educated in proper nutrition and fitness set her on the right path to enjoy a healthy and happy lifestyle (including all foods, in moderation).

Funny Fact: Jodi is known for being a selective eater. In fact, she has several strong food aversions that are so bad she can't be in the same room when people are eating certain foods! Be sure to ask her what they are.

What she can't live without: Hot yoga, hot baths, canine companions, and writing - whether it be blogs for Craving Health or her hobby blog (www.heartdogtribute.com), she finds writing very therapeutic just like exercise and hot baths.

How she helps:  Riley will work with you to make simple and sustainable life changes that over time will have a big impact on your health. She can help by providing practical tips and by working with you to create a healthy eating plan for your whole household. She is also multilingual! Elle est aussi capable d'aider ceux et celles qui préfèrent recevoir un service en français.   

What made her become a Registered Dietitian:  From an early age, Riley's love of food developed through cooking in the kitchen with her grandmother, who coincidentally is also a registered dietitian. Since that time, she has taken multiple culinary courses, including a summer course in Italy, and can now be found on the weekends experimenting, modifying, and creating new recipes in the kitchen. Her combined love of food and helping others discover a happy and healthy relationship with food made her realize being a dietitian was the right path for her.

Funny fact: When Riley was younger, her father worked as a teacher in a prison. One day on a crowded city bus, she asked her mother in a loud voice "When are we picking dad up from jail?"

Get to know Amanda

How she helps: While Amanda is a dietitian by trade, you can count on her as Craving Health’s Client Services extraordinaire! She is dedicated to helping you with any questions you may have about our services and always happy to book you an appointment to suit your schedule. Behind the scenes, she's in charge of Craving Health's social media, newsletter, and website postings.

What made her become a Registered Dietitian: Intuition brought Amanda to the field of dietetics. She always had a keen interest in health, wellness and disease-prevention. She made a switch in university courses and has never looked back!

Amanda now works with clients of all kinds and in a variety of settings including the hosptial and grocery store. While she is passionate about helping people make healthy and balanced food choices right in the grocery aisles, Amanda believes there is so much to be learned from others. It’s one of the many reasons why she loves being a dietitian!

Funny fact: Amanda and her friend experimented making cookies using a different type of flour. When they opened the flour bag, her friend commented, “Hmm…why are there so many bubbles in this flour?” Upon closer inspection, the flour was literally moving and infested with worms! Needless to say, they did not get to enjoy cookies that night (and had a few creepy-crawly nightmares afterward)!

What she can’t live without: Popcorn! She air-pops it at home and changes up the toppings for her savory and sweet cravings.
